Cleveland Saves wants to help you reach your dream of owning a home!
Under the leadership of the Consumer Federation of American and American Saves and in conjunction with Fannie Mae, Cleveland Saves is excited to announce our new "Saving for a home" home ownership initiative.
We recognize that saving money and figuring out the process associated with purchasing a home on your own can be a daunting effort, especially when you may have credit obstacles to overcome; or you have yet to begin saving for a down payment; or you are not familiar with the free services available to you through the local housing, lending, or community groups. That is why Cleveland Saves has developed a wide variety of partnerships with area nonprofit, corporate and government organizations to help Savers reach their dreams of owning a home. With the help of our partners, Cleveland Saves is pleased to offer the following services through the “Saving for a Home” homeownership initiative:
- Referral Services to Lending Institutions
“Saving for a Home” will assist Savers in identifying area partner lenders that will help Savers get the lending necessary to purchase a home.
- Referral Services to Nonprofit Housing Organizations
This service is designed to help Savers that may need some expert advice from a Housing Consultant who can help them understand the fine details of purchasing a home.
- Cleveland Savers Homeowners Tool Kit
The Homeowners Tool Kit provides Savers with information about the necessary steps to owning a home and a system to help them track their progress.
Once a month, Cleveland Saves will host “Saving for a Home” meetings to assist Savers that would like advice or have questions about homeownership. Topics to be covered included savings, budgeting, credit reporting, debt management, loan applications, home maintenance and repairs, down payment assistance programs, and foreclosure prevention.
